The Visitor is located in Håverud, next to the Dalsland Canal and the famous Aqueduct. Here you can eat, drink, stay and enjoy at a reasonable cost, in the middle of an area rich in experiences.
The bright newly renovated restaurant is located between the large car park and the canal. It is open daily from the end of May to the end of August. Buses and larger groups also during April-May and September. If you want to experience Dalsland, Håverud is the perfect place to go. It is located in the middle of Dalsland and it is close to everything, even to Norway.
The specialty that many return to enjoy is the Thai buffet. A number of authentic Thai dishes, all cooked from the base of the Thai staff working in the restaurant. On the ground floor there is also a pizzeria and grocery shop. There is usually a taco buffet and a number of a la carte dishes. If you are a larger group, the restaurant will adapt to your wishes. Some tips may be salmon à la Visitor, pork fillet with cantaloupe sauce or a cold salmon dish (3 kinds of salmon with accessories). There is also beer and wine for anyone who wishes. You eat at The Visitor and spend the time you want in Håverud and Upperud with everything the area has to offer.
There are 60 seats indoors and 20 at the outdoor dining room.
The entrance is adapted for the disabled.
There are approx. 80 beds in rooms and cabins.
Boat trip with M/S Nils Ericson af Håverud
We offer a fantastic canal trip with our ship M/S Nils Ericson af Håverud. A trip starting in Håverud, through the Aqueduct, up to the lake Åklång and further through the hand-operated lock in Buterud. After a tour of Råvarp again through the Aqueduct to Håverud.
